“Celebrate WV” was the theme for the 4th Annual Fundraising Dinner and Auction held on April 12th at Village Square. While supporting general operating costs at HCS the proceeds from this year’s event will be used in part for technology and to purchase much needed computer equipment and software programs for the students.
More than 200 local business owners donated over $20,000 for this year’s dinner and auction items. “Celebrate WV” provided proceeds over $27,000 for HCS. God is Great!

Staff Appreciation Week
HCS PTF sponsored a “Luau” week, May 5th – 9th, to recognize our dedicated teachers and staff. Various treats and activities were planned along with special sentiments from our students.
The students prepared creative writings to explain why they appreciated the staff at HCS. Along with the luau decorations, the hallway at HCS was decorated with the students work.
HCS is Partners in Education with Burger King, who sponsored a breakfast for our staff members on Tuesday morning. PTF sponsored a Staff Luau Luncheon on Thursday afternoon which was catered by our own HCS Chef, Tim Harbert. Thursday was a celebration for all, as students and staff were encouraged to wear Hawaiian themed clothes and accessories. The students were even treated to their own Lunch Luau with extra decorations and accessories added to their scheduled lunch.
God’s goodness, generosity of spirit, grace and kindness are displayed daily by our caring staff at HCS and it is with love and gratitude that we say Thank You!
